12 x12 L.O "SOUVENIR" - La Goulette, 1938

Hello Dear Friends! Scrapping an old picture can be rather "tricky" but I just love finding a picture that "speaks" to me and letting it inspire the whole feel of the page...

Bonjour chères Scropines! Scrapper une "vieille" photo peut être un peu difficile mais personnellement, j'aime beaucoup en trouver une qui me "parle", je m'en empreigne et je la laisse me guider...

This is a picture of my Dad and Ginette, a little girl with whom he shared some good fun while spending his summers in North Africa. I started by stamping the chevron background (Hero Arts) using watercolors. I then added about three layers of silk paper to create a soft texture and add dimension to the page. The patterned paper is from Amy Tangerine and the branch is from Papertrey Ink.

Sur la photo, on peut voir mon cher Papa et "sa" Ginette, une amie d'enfance. J'ai commencé par tamponner le tampon de fond (Hero Arts) avec différentes teintes d'aquarelle. Ensuite, j'ai ajouté quelques couches de papier de soie pour un effet doux et ajouter de l'épaisseur. Le papier imprimé est de Amy Tangerine et la branche est de Papertrey Ink.

For the journaling, I asked my Dad if he had any special memories of that time and he told me that one day his Dad, being tired of showing the children how to swim but never seeing any progress on their part, took them on a boat, kicked them out of the boat and told them "now, you two swim to the shore!" How's that for a souvenir, hey?

Pour le journaling de cette page, j'ai demandé à mon cher Papa si un souvenir lui revenait de ce temps-là...il m'a confié qu'un jour, son Papa, las de voir ces deux enfants jouer plutot que de reproduire les mouvements pour nager les a emmenés en barque au large. Là, il les a jetés à l'eau en leur disant -"Maintenant, vous rentrez à la nage!" Ca c'est du souvenir M'Dame!
