December Daily - WEEK2 / Christmas Baking

Hello Dear Friends! Today, i'd like to share both the second week of my December Daily and some very yummy and fun to make mushrooms to decorate any Christmas Yule Log.
Bonjour chères Scropines! Aujourd'hui, j'aimerais partager la deuxième semaine de mon Dédé ainsi que des champignons en meringue pour la Bûche de Noël.

WEEK2/SEMAINE2

★★★
I have tried many recipes and the Joy of Baking is to me an excellent one. I always make sure the eggs i use for baking are at room temperature. I bake the meringues in a 250F oven instead of the recommended 200 but that's the only thing i did differently form the recipe.

J'ai testé plusieurs recettes et selon moi, celle de Joy of Baking est parfaite. Je les cuis dans un four légèrement plus chaud que 100C. Je sors toujours mes oeufs bien avant de commencer une recette, c'est un détail qui a son importance!

Those mushrooms look fantastic as does the stamp! Hopefully you have weathered the storm and everyone can get home?

The Meringue mushrooms are just gorgeous! I've never made a yule log - but you may have inspired me to hunt down a gluten free recipe and try!

I love, love, love all your layouts and my mouth is watering in view of your baked goodies. Yesterday I had the very last piece of cake that my mother in law baked for us... Now we're on our own.

I wish you and your sweet family the happiest Christmas!

I love that page with the cat. The sheep have wandered into the footpath at the end of our garden again - thankfully our gate is well secured but it gave us a start this morning as I don't feel like playing Shepherdess in the pouring rain!!
The mushrooms look super.

This brings back great memories of making a Bûche de Noël for four years in our French class in high school. One year we even did the mushrooms (at home) like you have here.

And how fun you saw the Nutcracker! My friend and I have been talking about doing this for awhile, but thought our kids (ages 5, 8, 9, 11) are too young to appreciate it. Your daughter is 9, right? What do you think, is it a good age to take her?

PS, we went to the Walnut Room on Monday last week. I think the trick is to go on a Monday before school is out, because we walked right in! No pager, no waiting, no nothing. It was so early we ended up having the breakfast buffet. This is our 9th year going there and we've never waited less than 2 1/2 hours before. Such a nice surprise.
