When I first saw this stamp from Penny Black, I thought of my Mom who has always loved poppies. She taught me at a very young age that there was no sense picking them since that would guarantee killing them almost instantly. I colored them with watercolor and lightly misted the bottom part of the image with walnut ink. The hemp and the kraft accentuate that rustic look I was going for...
Dès que j'ai vu ce tampon j'ai pensé à ma Maman qui a toujours raffolé des coquelicots. J'étais toute petite lorsqu'elle m'expliquait que ça ne servait à rien de les cueillir, qu'ils mourraient de suite. Comme d'habitude, j'ai utilisé mes aquarelles et puis j'ai "misté" le bas de l'image pour faire un effet "graminées"...

J'ai toujours eu un faible pour les coquelicots (pour leur côté éphémère et pour le rouge que j'adore) et pour les tournesols (pour le soleil). Ta carte est superbe et et l'effet "graminé" est parfaitement rendu, ça donne de la texture, on a envie de toucher les fleurs .. même si ta maman a raison, on ne doit pas !!!

This is one of my very favourite stamps from the new release & you've coloured it beautifully with the softness of those petal leaves. The rustic look is super with the wheat too & there is just something about kraft with white & red!

You are so right! This card really does transport me to another time. And wow, is it EVER gorgeous! I would never think of combing those poppies with the cat tails in the image, but I absolutely love the rustic look. And you accentuated that perfectly!

Oh oui l'été !! Ce tampon a quelque chose de magique pour nous transporter ainsi, d'un seul regard, dans la douce contrée de juillet, au milieu des champs de blé... Ou bien serait-ce ton merveilleux talent pour nous le présenter ? Le résultat est magnifique, bravo !
