a collage from Southern Florida & card - melle Papillon

Hello from sunny southern Florida where we are enjoying discovering the Everglades and the Keys...
Bonjour du sud de la Floride!

Last time we visited the Keys, Gallianne Lily wasn't even born so it's super fun to see how excited she gets every time we pass a seashell store. She's a little disappointed to realize that her pocket money will not be enough to purchase that snorkeling mask she likes so much. She's still dreaming about swimming with a dolphin one day...

I thought I'd post a second take on Melle Papillon from penny Black Inc. I like her best stamped with black ink i think. She's colored with watercolor pencils.

Voici une deuxième version de Melle Papillon (Penny Black Inc) Je crois que je la préfère ainsi c'est-à-dire tamponnée avec de l'encre noire puis colorée aux crayons aquarelle.

Thank You! Merci!

I hope your adventures are safe and happy ones! Your photos certainly make my scrap booking look pathetic! Not the layout, it's the camera person (me). I hope the swim with the big fish happens! All the best.

Oh man, you're loving the fact that it's 6 degrees in Chicago, aren't you?! Well, I'm excited that you've shared photos of your vacation so we can all pretend a little. My boys would go NUTS over the seashell shops too.

I have to share how much your beautiful card and sentiment touched me. On Monday we came down to see the butterflies at Peggy Notebaert Museum, but on the way we saw an empty spot on the street right by the zoo's back entrance. How can we pass that up? So we zoomed in, and ended up at the gorilla house. They have 3 and 4 month old baby gorillas! We were in for such a TREAT. They were right in front of the glass we stood by. Mamma flipped baby on his back, and he laid there like a human baby with his legs in the air, hands grabbing at toes, trying to get the biscuits from Mom's hand. It was amazing! Then the baby crawled right up to my son. They were nose to nose! Baby tried to reach through the glass, even sticking his little tongue out to try licking through the glass. They played with each other for 10 minutes. We decided to leave and walk all the way back to the car to get Logan's DSI to take photos (I neglected to put the battery back in my camera that morning, of all mornings!) Luckily the baby was still interacting with the humans when we returned. Logan got right up front again, took some pictures, and turned the screen around to show the baby gorilla. How fun to watch him look at himself! It was truly an amazing moment, and totally not expected. Your sentiment reminded me of that, and how ironic when I saw the butterflies (which we postponed) on your card!

I'm definitely hankering after summer now - your photos are a lovely reminder of warmer days. That top right photo of the clouds & sun is quite spectacular.
I love the dramatic colours of your card & how you caught the reality of those butterflies' colouring in nature.
