Ever wondered what to do with all the plastic packaging we get when we buy things such as die cuts, blades,dolls,cards...?

Well recycling these pieces of plastic into tags and cards is fun especially with the dry-embossing technique.

I highly recommend the Cuttlebug line for dry embossing. The dies are great, foolproof and work just on about anything.I also like the fact that they can go in the Big Shot ( Sizzix ). The die for the card itself here is from Quikutz.
I liked the idea of adding elements inside/outside of the card. The papers are from My Little Yellow Bicycle.

The Happy "BIRD"ay Tag shows a different example ( words instead of patterns ). The paper is from the cover of a catalog ( feels so good to recycle a bunch of things in one tiny project! )I love the "Happy Birthday" ribbon which is from American Crafts.

One last example which does not call for the dry embossing but rather a die cut ( Quikutz ) and rub ons & embellies.I painted the contour of each plastic card / tag with acrylic paint. I haven't talked about the pink card (with the bling on its cover)because it's not quite finished. I 'll add something in between the 2 sheets of plastic but probably more like a strip of paper so the motif still prevails.
Thank you very much for your interest! Let me know what you think!
J'espere que ces petits exemples vous ont plus. N'hesitez pas a me dire si vous aimeriez avoir certaines clarifications en francais, ou si tout simplement vous aimeriez que notre belle langue soit plus frequement utilisee sur ce blog!A tres Bientot!

I just found your blog and I am enjoying your postings a lot. I'm new to scrapping so is great to go to a place where one is shown how to do it. I have been pondering about embosing and what is the best product. I will be looking this weekend for the cuttlebug. Thanks again for sharing so selflessly!

That's amazing! You know I love a good recycling project. I always thought that plastic packaging should be put to a good use. Now I really have my eye out for an embosser!

A bientôt !
